EVENTURUS tips for booking

  1. Book early. High-speed rail tickets go on sale 14 days ahead. For Golden Week or Chinese New Year, book the moment they release.
  2. Use official railway apps (12306 or international platforms that accept foreign passports). Book early - tickets go on sale 14 days ahead.
  3. Choose window seats (A or F) for the best views. A = window on the 3-seat side, F = window on the 2-seat side.
  4. 1st class is the sweet spot for trips over 3 hours. Only 1.7× the cost but significantly more comfortable.
  5. Business class is worth it for routes like Shanghai-Beijing (4.5h) if you want to sleep or work in peace.
  6. Bring snacks. Food carts come through but selection is limited. Pack snacks and a drink.
